Assalamualaikum and Salam 1 Malaysia
First of all I'm grateful because I got the opportunity to watch live show of last nite debate on free education between government coalition and opposition coalition representative.I believe that it open up the mind a lot of viewers/voters/Malaysian on various aspect more than just education itself.Anyhow in this post I'll reflect yesterday debate from my point of view and expectation.Second thing is I would like to apologize in advance (also for my previous posts) should there are mistakes due to my lack of reading and knowledge.I have no fuel up anything just a piece of my mind.
My conclusion from Rafizi speeches I see the emphasis on the honest and clean government administration. Through this we can save a lot of money as this will reduce corruption and cronyism (3rd world practice according to him if I'm not mistaken).In addition government might not end up at the losing end by paying things at inflated price which means it lies somewhere 30-50% higher than the exact cost.For example in construction industry government should ensure the appointed contractor is the one whom will do the job instead of total sub to another party.This will remove "untung atas angin".The saving can be use in many ways and should it accumulate over the years it can contribute to something bigger.
As for Khairy speeches it focus more on the Buku Jingga and sometimes it divert away from the objective of the debate.It do sounds more political rather than the economic of it with exception during the first round of the debate where he came out with numbers.In addition he do highlight on the forecast of economic expansion through the Government Transformation Plan.For that we should pray for the best and look forward for a brighter future for all Malaysian.To say he is teach by Google would be wrong but Google is a useful tool when you looking for news/development in other country.
As a lot of facts were presented organizer should looks to elongate the debate duration and have the debaters to have presentation for ease of viewers reference.Longer session will allow debaters to elaborate more on their answer.Facts should be followed with the sources where they obtain it from or from whom it was quoted.More or less I'm looking forward it to be presented they way we present our FYP.Was it too much to be fulfill?I hope my suggestions are not too much to be fulfill.
Looking forward to another debate.Last nite debate well played to each other strength.Well done organizer and well done for supporters at the scene.Anyway we should have more paid channel to allow a lot of debate take place.
